In visual, the erupt today (March 11, 2023, 00.12 am DC / 12.12 pm Jakarta time) is (arguably) the most significant erupt after 2010 / the second-highest level since 2010 (in 2010, 198,488 refugees, 218 people were injured, and 135 people had been recorded as having died). The Volcanological Survey of Indonesia (PVMBG) reported that a pattern of increasing seismicity from Merapi had begun to emerge. The Merapi Volcano Observatory estimated the ash cloud reached 3,000 metres above the summit. Authorities established a restricted zone of at least 7km, for example Babadan Magelang 7 km (4.3 mil) west. Hot ash clouds reported to be flowing down the (around) Bebeng River / Krasak River signalling the likelihood of an imminent eruption.
