Imam Mosque Killed, 3rd Hatred Violence After Fadea 6 years old [Illinois] and Jordanian Student in Hamburg Germany

Imam Hassan Sharif was fatally shot Wednesday morning outside a mosque in Newark, New Jersey.

Police said the imam was rushed to University Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries. 

The shooting was reported shortly after 6:15 a.m. outside Masjid Muhammad mosque on the corner of Camden Street and South Orange Avenue.

The building appeared to be open for the 6 a.m. Fajr prayer -- the first of five daily prayers -- when the attack took place. 

Hours later, Newark police officers could be seen positioned outside the entrance, while a state police helicopter monitored the situation from the sky.

On October 14, 2023, Wadea al-Fayoume ( وديع الفيوم, Wadīʿa al-Fayyūm), a six-year-old Palestinian - American boy, was killed when he was stabbed 26 times in his home in Plainfield Township, Illinois. His mother, Hanaan Shahin, was also stabbed and strangled, leaving her critically injured. Authorities have described the killing as a hate crime motivated by lslamophobia and anti-Palestinianism.

2 Days before Christmas, Jordanian student in Germany, Mohammad Barakat, 21, was shot dead in Hamburg. The shooting was ideologically motivated in response to Mohammad's social media posts about the ongoing genocide in Gaza. This is the direct outcome of state-sponsored racism. There has been a shocking rise of violence against Palestinians in the West over the last 80 days. They aren’t isolated incidents. They are fueled by anti-Palestinian politicians, media and institutions.
