Murder Attempt to Opposition, but Gangnam Style Method

With next general elections scheduled in April, political tensions have been running high.

Lee Jae-myung, chief of South Korea's main opposition Democratic Party, was taken to a hospital after being attacked by an unidentified person, multiple local media reported Tuesday. During his visit to the country's southeastern port city of Busan, Gaedok Island, Lee was stabbed in his left neck by an unidentified man.

The suspect carrying an unidentified weapon on his hand was arrested at the scene. Fire Department says Lee Jae-myung has regained consciousness and has suffered minor injuries including a 1cm laceration on the neck. Suspect is in custody. With next general elections scheduled in April, political tensions have been running high.

While far from an anti-imperialist or a socialist, Lee Jae-myung really has no equal among western liberal politicians in his willingness to somewhat stand up to the current govt and even take personal risks like hunger strike. If he goes, the Yoon government will only be stronger.
