I'd go even further: Japan has run the first ever large-scale M3 (Modern Monetary Theory) experiment in human history. It seems to be failing today, but we're not 100% sure yet.

(at) @goatfury ANDREW:

stark contrast between (image, perception):

1) japan is very efficient, very accurate (means: [should] cheap product, etc)

vs

2) living cost in entire Japan (not only Tokyo, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Osaka, Yokohama, etc) is (maybe) highest ever in the world (not compare scale-of-city like Spore or Montecarlo) is really annoying.

More annoying:

how WalkMan until today keep selling (and iPod already died) but SONY losing market very significant if compared on 1980s.

How in abroad, Japanese property companies conquered (at least) Asia but at home, (even) expat can takeover “haunted home” because around 30-40% home in Japan abandoned.
