Talibangelical America (Roe Overturned)
It’s never holier than thou. Pope vehemently says Republican Pro-Life is wrong. It’s about women wanting to be good mothers.
I'm Muslim, and I’m not pro-murdering babies. Women should be treated like humans. No, It’s never holier than thou. It’s about right for women.
Your friendly local (Indonesia) Muslim, was school at Islamic School, & analyst, here to remind you Sharia permits abortion up to 120 days, for rape/incest, when fetus is non-viable,& to save the mother’s life—as a decision between a woman & her. Just a reminder for my fellow Indonesian to stop calling the Roe decision a win for "religious" liberties and “disgruntled Left” America, “disgruntled Democrat”. It would be accurate to specify it as a Christian-led effort, not just "religion". Judaism and Islam both allow abortions, and neither faiths state that life begins at conception.
The world is not laughing at you anymore America. We’re aghast in horror. France’s President Emmanuel Macron said he stands in “solidarity with the women” whose liberties are being “taken away” by the Supreme Court. Trudeau also expressed his sympathy. Foreign leaders are doing more to protect women in America than the “America-first” Republicans.
Stop using faith as your punchline. Roe overturned is Talibangelical America, 100% ‘Christian’ Ultra-Radical Nationalism. Even Taliban still allowed abortion for some emergency situation. Tax the churches. Let's stop pretending there is any kind of separation here. They want to influence law, they can pay taxes.
Even The Vatican calls out American pro-lifers for cherrypicking the Bible on abortion, reminds them that pro-life “also means being concerned about the mortality rates of women” who give birth and “defending life against the threat of firearms”. It's looking bad for Republicans and other anti-abortionists when even the Pope vehemently says you're wrong.
The typical patient who gets an abortion is already a mother and she lives under the poverty line. Latina, colored, Afro-America, Asian-America, Arab-America, Iranian-America, or even Muslim-America. I believe abortion should be free. Anyone who wants one, for any reason, should easily be able to get an abortion, on demand and without apology.
It’s not about women not wanting to become mothers, it’s about women wanting to be good mothers.
If everyone who supports a woman's right to choose came out to vote blue from now on, Republicans America would never win another election ever again. 65% women in America support safe abortion. Everyone is worried. It is not just unwanted pregnancy at risk. It is unviable. It is a woman at risk due to an unviable pregnancy (for many reason options) not just the rape or not just family planning. If someone got pregnant and could not safely carry the baby or the baby died and did not naturally expel, she would be forced to carry that unviable fetus and risk her life for that.
Republicans are hurting mothers should be the core message this November (Mid-Election). Even Trump afraid Roe v. Wade overturned. Trump has expressed different thoughts publicly and privately about overturning Roe v. Wade.
Trump has privately told friends and advisers the ruling will be “bad for Republicans.” When a draft copy of the decision leaked in May by POLITICO (deep investigation by Alex B Ward and Josh Gerstein), Trump began telling friends and advisers that it would anger suburban women, a group who helped tilt the 2020 race to President Biden, and would lead to a backlash against Republicans in the November midterm elections. In other conversations, Mr. Trump has told people that measures like the Texas state law banning most abortions after six weeks and allowing citizens to file lawsuits against people who enable abortions are “so stupid”. Congrats to the women in the Republican for giving up your rights as women. I'm sure your grandmothers that fought hard and long for women's rights will be proud. It's sad that Christianity today claims that a woman has no right over their bodies, which is not true.
Samuel Alito killed a lot of women and girls by overturning Roe. Clarence Thomas killed a lot of Americans by overturning a century-old New York gun safety law. Next week all 6 ChristoFascist Justices will kill countless Americans by annihilating the EPA. Republican’s so acclaimed “Pro-life” is a putrid lie
I'm pro-Becky who found out at her 20-week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life sustaining organs.
Forced birth in a country that doesn’t have mandatory maternity leave or universal healthcare. I stand with women. I stand with her choice. I will keep my mouth shut when it comes to determining what they do with THEIR bodies. If that is a problem for you, go to the button you hit to follow me, and hit “unfollow”. You’re not a plane. Don’t announce your departure.
There are over 120,000 children eligible for adoption in the United States right now and more than 400,000 in the foster care system. When I see pics of these conservative married couples holding a sign “we adopt your baby”, no, I really don't buy it. If this was about babies, there would be universal healthcare. Free education. Free daycare. Southern states would be doing all they can to drop the Black maternal mortality rate. This is about power and control. This isn't about babies, because if it were, we'd support kids & families with health care, high-quality education, universal child care, reliable housing, and access to healthy food. This is about controlling women's bodies.
The complicated now for woman in America: surveillance, tracking data (history of search) abortion in cyberspace. Women forced to delete period apps. But also don’t arrange rides for people to get abortions on Facebook. Don’t google “where to get an abortion” if you live in Texas. Don’t go to a protest unmasked. The privacy violations that are coming go so much deeper than period apps. Use Signal or another encrypted app for communication. Use Duck Duck Go as your browser. Wear a mask. Pay for your pregnancy test in cash and don’t scan your Target circle app at the register. A lawyer friend also advised you to turn off your GPS and biometric phone access if you are going to a protest. If you live in a state banning abortion, are pregnant and intend to abort in another state where abortion is free, don't do any pregnancy check at doctors, hospitals, clinics in your residence state. Otherwise you can be prosecuted when you return from your abortion trip. Otherwise, that query can be obtained by the authorities in your state from your broadband service provider or your mobile provider for some time.
I'm pro-Susan who was sexually assaulted on her way home from work, only to come to the horrific realization that her assailant planted his seed in her when she got a positive pregnancy test result a month later.
I'm pro-Theresa who hemorrhaged due to a placental abruption, causing her parents, spouse, and children to have to make the impossible decision on whether to save her or her unborn child.
No Black person in the South should have to leave to exercise their rights. Ignoring their history and ties to the land is just a liberalized type of racism. People need rights where they are and where they want to be, not somewhere else. Anything less harms them. We cannot allow this ding-dong who doesn’t seem to know the typical American seeking reproductive care is already a MOTHER, & who also thought fertility had to do with Daylight Savings become the next US Senator for Ohio.
The irony of companies paying for the travel of their employees requiring abortions is that that it goes to the very heart of the individual’s right to privacy—the legal doctrine on which Roe was based. If someone needed one, it’s reasonable that she don’t want her employer to know. Also a bad omen for privacy - both societal and legal. You shouldn’t have to tell your employer “hey help me break the law” in order to get an abortion. And who wants to tell their boss that they want an abortion anyway? An omen of a future where your healthcare is somehow even more controlled by your employer. Everyone (maybe) don’t know that total employer domination of personal healthcare is scariest health policy scenarios.
I'm pro-little Cathy who had her innocence ripped away from her by someone she should have been able to trust and her 11-year-old body isn't mature enough to bear the consequence of that betrayal.
I'm pro-Melissa who's working two jobs just to make ends meet and has to choose between bringing another child into poverty or feeding the children she already has because her spouse walked out on her.
I'm pro-Brittany who realizes that she is in no way financially, emotionally, or physically able to raise a child.
I'm pro-Emily who went through IVF, ending up with SIX viable implanted eggs requiring selective reduction to ensure the safety of her and a SAFE number of fetuses.
I'm pro-Jessica who is FINALLY getting the strength to get away from her physically abusive spouse only to find out that she is carrying the monster's child.
I'm pro-Vanessa who went into her confirmation appointment after YEARS of trying to conceive only to hear silence where there should be a heartbeat.
I'm pro-Lindsay, who lost her virginity in her sophomore year with a broken condom and now has to choose whether to be a teenage mom or just a teenager.
I'm pro-Courtney who just found out she's already 13 weeks along, but the egg never made it out of her fallopian tube so either she terminates the pregnancy or risks dying from internal bleeding.
You can argue and say that I'm pro-choice all you want, but the truth is:
I'm pro-life.
Their lives.
Women's lives.
Which companies now paying for abortions for their employees and even extra money for transport fee, and also gave money to senators who voted to confirm the justices who gutted this constitutional right.
You don't get to pick and choose which scenarios should be accepted. It's not about which stories you don't agree with. It's about fighting for the women in the stories that you do agree with and the CHOICE that was made.
Women's rights are meant to protect ALL women, regardless of their situation!
Overturning Roe does not stop abortions, it stops SAFE abortions!
Abortion is healthcare.
I’m so glad I read your news letter Prada. I’m from what’s called “the Bible Belt,” southeastern North Carolina but even we were raised outside that evangelical strict, everything’s black and white, no shades of gray, and I’m not talking about race here. I’m talking about how so so many people I know back home, I’m now in California, are like me, there’s an in between. When in a court of law a lawyer tells you it’s a yes or no question and you have to answer that way? I say no! No you don’t. We are all individuals, we all suffer our own pains, we are the ones who live in our skin. Where are men in all this? As always they’re conveniently absent, they easily stand in the pulpit and shout NO! To abortion under any circumstances.
I was always on the fence about the Roe vs Wade issue, hoping it wiuldco
