Wrath, Frustration Inside IDF, But No One Try to Kill or Toppled Netanyahu [Like Yithzak Rabin]
Netanyahu’s cabinet is so intentionally offensive. Their job is to make Israel too toxic for US to tolerate. This is hard because US has no other country it can use for weapons smuggling.
Jerusalem - Gaza Strip 5.20pm / Dearborn Michigan - Washington DC 10.20am
In the middle of the night, 2am Tel Aviv - Gaza Strip - Jerusalem, Netanyahu tweeted that he wasn't responsible for any failures over the October 7 massacres, and pinned the blame on the security establishment. After an outcry, including from his new coalition partner Benny Gantz, the tweet was just deleted.
Truly jawdropping how much damage & chaos one man can create. I think the lesson must be to hold him accountable sooner rather than later. He shows no sign of holding himself accountable or stepping back in the least. Extremely worrisome. Seems the whole nation is hostage.
[chant by Israeli in front of IDF Headquarter. Bibi Netanyahu is murderer]
On November 4, 1995, after a demonstration in Tel Aviv's Kings of Israel Square (now Rabin Square) in support of the Oslo Accords, right-wing extremist Yigal Amir waited for incumbent Prime Minister Yithzak Rabin in a parking lot adjacent to the square, close to Rabin's official limousine. There, he shot Rabin twice with a Beretta 84F .380 ACP-caliber semi-automatic pistol, and injured Yoram Rubin, a security guard, with a third shot. Amir was immediately seized by Rabin's bodyguards. Rabin was rushed to Ichilov Hospital [now Sourasky Medical Center] where he died on an operating table 40 minutes later of blood loss and a punctured lung. According to the court, Yigal Amir's brother Hagai and his friend Dror Adani were his accomplices in the assassination plan.
Which Netanyahu has elevated to an art form. 20 Days into the war, he has not taken one question from the Israeli press. Israel must deal with the most difficult period in Israeli history with a "leader" who is scared shitless of questions. Israel's foreign policy has all of the sophistication and nuance of a third-grade schoolyard brawl. ("He started").
Once again, Netanyahu drives the UN and the nations of the world into abject isolation. Netanyahu is not merely a Prime Minister who has no motive that are not ulterior, he is a dangerous state of mind. Netanyahu lacks the moral authority to lead Israel through the challenges ahead. Netanyahu’s cabinet is so intentionally offensive and inciteful. Their job is to make Israel too toxic for US to tolerate. This is hard because US has no other country it can use for weapons smuggling and hi-tech R&D lab. And Raytheon needs that dollar.
You can see how much PR effort has been made to publicize the campaign in English, this is because there is essentially 0 trust in Netanyahu to bring back the hostages and almost exclusive reliance on Biden to prioritize/negotiate for them.
Israeli army leaders are at odds with government officials over “how, when, and even whether to” launch a much-anticipated ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, multiple US and Israeli officials revealed to the New York Times. Israeli troops are massed on the Gaza border and described as ready to move, but Israel’s political and military leaders are divided about how, when and even whether to invade.
Although army leaders have for days said their troops are ready to enter the besieged coastal enclave, government officials are concerned that the invasion “might suck the Israeli Army into an intractable urban battle" and open a “broader conflict” with Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon.
“There is also debate over whether to conduct the invasion through one large operation or a series of smaller ones. And then there are questions about who would govern Gaza if Israel captured it,” the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added.
Blame for the delay is mainly placed on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who “angered senior officers” by refusing to give the go-ahead. The embattled premier reportedly wants “unanimous approval from members of the war cabinet” to avoid being blamed for another security failure when his popularity is already plummeting.
Although Tel Aviv announced imminent plans to send ground forces into Gaza the day after Palestinian resistance factions launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, three weeks later, the Netanyahu government has yet to give the green light.
The delay is also an outcome of marathon meetings held with senior US officials last week, who reportedly expressed their trepidation over the Israeli army's ability and readiness to successfully “eradicate” Hamas. As such, western media has revealed that US planners are heavily involved in devising the Israeli strategy to enter Gaza.\
Although Tel Aviv has held back from giving the go-ahead to hundreds of thousands of troops stationed near the Gaza border, over the past two nights, Israeli and US special forces have launched “limited incursions” into the besieged enclave in preparation for “the next stages of fighting.” I cannot really figure out what’s going on yet in Israeli state/military dynamics. It seems to me that US/MNFs are not strong players in this war due to their self-imposed inability to negotiate with Hamas as an “officially designated terrorist group”, whereas they could openly collaborate with PLO. Israel has a better relationship with Hamas than US does. If there are comparisons to 1982, it’s more likely that the US - Israel fake friends/mutual sabotage dynamic (disregarding greedy defense contractors) is now happening more internally to the Israeli state, between Netanyahu and IDF.
It’s possible that Netanyahu will allow the US to have a 2023 equivalent of its preposterous 1983 “tank moment” again and pretend to be the progressive figure. It’s not Netanyahu’s responsibility unless he planned operation with Hamas to clear ground on both sides of border fence for gas plant. Which I think is very possible. But Shin Bet and IDF are more responsible: 300 soldiers died, contrary, only 13 Hamas high-ranking killed by IDF in the middle more than 7,000 civilian.
These have come as Israeli jets continue to indiscriminately bomb the world's largest concentration camp, killing over 7,000 Palestinians – including 3,000 children.
As the war enters its 20th day, support from the country's population has begun to turn, with at least 49 percent of Israelis saying they want the government to hold off on any invasion of Gaza, according to an opinion poll published by Hebrew daily Maariv on 27 October.
This starkly differs from a survey published on 19 October, in which 65 percent of Israelis said they fully supported a ground invasion.
