Blair / Iraq, Nixon / Vietnam: Resignation Haunted Netanyahu, Biden and Western Leaders as Protesters Believe to Toppled Genocidal Apologize
Being humane is hard work. Remaining humane in the face of inhumane cruelty is far more difficult. We are spiraling to moral inferno. Hamas is there, Israelis and some of those calling themselves.
DC and Dearborn 9.56am / Jerusalem - Gaza Strip - Tel Aviv 4.56pm / Delhi 7.26pm / Berlin 3.56pm / London 2.56pm [371 hours of war, still continue] BREAKING NEWS live update trilingual [hebrew - arabic - english] click here. More than 5,000 [5,087] Palestine in Gaza alone killed [2,055 children and 1,119 women] by Israel. 96 Palestinian killed in the West Bank. Maybe [in Gaza] 6,000 - 6,500 because still a lot of victims under the rubbles. It means 62% of those killed are children and women. 62%, Almost two thirds.
If anyone forget Muna, Muna is Mohammed El-Kurd sister. Both ‘Kurd’ very viral as activist in Jerusalem / West Bank side, especially about Sheikh Jarrah. In social media especially twitter, Mohammed and another Palestinian named Saeed, is the ‘center of gravity’ of engagement issue about the fate of Palestinian. Both Mohammed and Saeed, regularly reaches million engagements just 1 tweet, to show the world genocidal by Israel. Plestia Alaqad in Gaza just enable to tweet it around 1.30pm local time. On Instagram side, currently Plestia [maybe] the biggest convert - audience although not the biggest followers among Palestinian. Her feed repeatedly gets liked 170k-210k, or 17-21 percent of her followers. Using data by FORBES top creators 2023, all [50] top creators, no one get 9 percent convert-audience, only get 2-8 percent. Flow of information in war zones is often halting and unpredictable, but given the scale of Israel’s assault, journalists are facing unprecedented challenges in obtaining and sharing information. Especially journalist in Gazans like Plestia, less electricity and cellular signal, also dire mentality. 18 Palestinian journos in Gaza killed by Israel bombardment”
Some Gazans - popular in social media, finally text something around 11am today to say ‘I’m still alive’ — previously can text same things 6 or 7am. Deadliest ever bombing last night in Gaza history. World attention has begun shifting from sympathy for murdered Israelis to concern for plight of Palestinians and criticism of US support for Israel. Anger at airstrikes and long history of Palestinian suffering under Israeli occupation is extreme boiling over.
There is a lot of disinformation going around about Israeli protests against Netanyahu and or entire Israeli government. While anger is high, there are no antigovernment or antiwar protests. There aren’t thousands of people in the streets.
This is due to fear, lack of alternative, and a silencing of dissent. The fact that the majority of the anti-Netanyahu protesters were ultimately defending ethnocracy and the judicial that enforces it. The organisers understood the reform as a threat to the law that protects the military from accountability. Now they support war crimes, support genocidal. Israel government is acting like the rules and norms don't apply to them. Truly shameful behaviour. UN experts have today called on all lawyers advising the Israeli military to refuse legal authorisation for acts that may amount to war crimes.
Have said this before but seeing huge marches across the world in solidarity with the plight of the Palestinians is so encouraging. gives hope for a better future to know that while there are loud voices cheering on what's happening, there are so many more that are sickened. No clear data or eyewitness, but for 300,000 protesters - solidarity for Palestine last Saturday, according to multiple activists, its same gigantic Feb 15th, 2003, 6 weeks before Iraq War 2003 [March 20th, 2003]. Tony Blair resigns as UK prime minister, June 27, 2007, only 2 years after winning general election [2005], and also 4 years 3 months after Iraq War
In 2012 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a cartoon-like drawing of a bomb in an address to the United Nations and marked it on it with a red pen to illustrate when Iran would have enough uranium to create a nuclear bomb that would become existential threat to Israel.
Since corruption charges were filed against him, in January 2020, Netanyahu himself became an existential threat to Israel, pushing towards an equally dangerous red line. Benjamin Netanyahu sold Israelis a story about their safety. he myth that Netanyahu assiduously cultivated about his leadership stands exposed as a self-serving fiction, and he will be forever remembered as the security hawk who presided over the greatest security failure in Israeli history.
Arming. Rely on them
If at first Netanyahu's efforts were to weaken the state institutions in order to sabotage criminal proceedings against him, by January 2023 he moved to dismantle them altogether, reducing them to such a low level of functionality that Israel, in many aspects, began to resemble a failed state.
Why did he do this? He believed that he was betrayed by the state itself -- as some would put it – the "deep-state". So according to his logic, it was not only necessary to take control of its institutions, but essentially, destroy them. A key tool in this operation was his move to appoint loyalists with minimal qualifications – if any.
Netanyahu logical, anticipating ‘betrayed by something’, can trackback again, at least, sour relation with George Soros.
Netanyahu may see himself as the leader of the Jewish people, but there are some Jews he is decidedly unenthusiastic about representing. And Soros probably tops that list. Soros has been lionized by the left and vilified by the right worldwide; one side of the political map viewing his work as progress toward a more free and just world, the other – particularly on its extreme fringes – viewing him as running a devious, even satanic, effort to create a new world order.
6 Years ago, concerned by reports from Hungarian Jews that the posters were sparking an uptick in anti-Semitism, Israel’s ambassador to Hungary, Yossi Amrani, issued an extraordinarily sharp statement last weekend. In it, he called on Viktor Orbán and his Fidesz party to remove posters hung throughout the country that criticized Soros, saying it was fueling anti-Semitism.
“The campaign not only evokes sad memories but also sows hatred and fear,” the statement said. “It’s our moral responsibility to raise a voice and call on the relevant authorities to exert their power and put an end to this cycle.”
The statement was too much for Netanyahu. On his orders, the statement was “clarified,” to emphasize that while the condemnation of anti-Semitism remained, “in no way was the statement meant to delegitimize criticism of George Soros, who continuously undermines Israel’s democratically elected governments by funding organizations that defame the Jewish state and seek to deny it the right to defend itself.”
In August 2016, a leak of hacked documents from the Open Society Foundations, a Soros think-thank, included emails discussing a strategy of “challenging Israel’s racist and antidemocratic policies” in international forums.
Soros has been a supporter of J Street since the “pro-Israel, pro-peace” organization was founded as an effort to counteract AIPAC’s influence, lobbying the White House and Capitol Hill to push for an Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement.
Soros also supports Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International – groups that regularly chastise and criticize Israeli policies.
Most of the groups supported by Soros have been the targets of Netanyahu’s NGO law, passed a year ago, which mandates special reporting requirements for organizations that get most of their funding from foreign governments.
Israel and Hungary’s NGO laws may both target groups that Soros supports, but they differ in a key regard. The Israeli law specifically cracks down on donations from foreign governments – not individual foreigners or their foundations.
Netanyahu’s patron styles himself as a counterweight to Soros – particularly when it comes to the American political arena, where his tens of millions of dollars flow to Republicans who battle it out with Soros-supported candidates, most bitterly and dramatically in 2016.
George Soros once slammed the US for supporting Israel and not recognizing Hamas after the terrorist group won control of the Gaza Strip.
In a 2007 Financial Times op-ed, Soros chastised the Bush administration’s commitment to Israel, calling on the US and the Jewish state to work together with Hamas, whose forces killed more than 900 people across the Gaza border [2007].
A year after Hamas won an election to govern Gaza, Soros said it was wrong for the US to align itself with Israel in refuting the terrorist group’s authority and installing a blockade around the Palestinian territory.
“Israel, with strong US backing, refused to recognize the democratically elected Hamas government and withheld payment of the millions in taxes collected by the Israelis on its behalf,” Soros wrote, suggesting the move was a blunder that only caused Israeli-Palestinian relations to worsen.
Yes, today Palestine - Israel is the worst ever. 6k - 6.5 Palestinian killed by Israel.
“If Israel had accepted the results of the election, that might have strengthened the more moderate political wing,” he added. “Unfortunately, the ideology of the ‘war on terror’ does not permit such subtle distinctions.”
Soros claimed it was necessary for the US and Israel to negotiate with Hamas, and to only engage in talks with those in the West Bank would be wrong.
“Defenders of the current policy argue that Israel cannot afford to negotiate from a position of weakness. But Israel’s position is unlikely to improve as long as it pursues its current course,” the liberal donor wrote.
He went on to cite the decades of violence that have engulfed Israel and Palestine, calling on Israel to forego future military action and for America to support that idea.
“Demonstrating military superiority is not sufficient as a policy for dealing with the Palestinian problem,” Soros wrote. “It would be tragic to miss out on that prospect because the Bush administration is mired in the ideology of the war on terror.”
The dysfunctionality under Netanyahu has been evident to all, most clearly seen first with the unrestrained deadly rampage of criminal gangs in the Israel’s Arab towns and cities and unchecked violence by West Bank settlers towards Palestinians.
And since October 7 it’s been seen in the agonizingly slow response of the state during the Hamas massacre and also in the almost non-existence of its assistance to victims in its aftermath.
The mobilization and solidarity among Israeli citizens and civil society have always helped Israel to overcome crises, but this time they are not acting as a complementary service the state, but very much replacing it. It is citizen volunteers delivering food and supplies to survivors of the massacre and other evacuees from the south and north, and leading high-tech efforts to identify the hostages in Gaza, for example.
While the Biden administration refrained from seriously intervening in the constitutional crisis that Netanyahu created, on October 7 everything changed when Hamas exploited it in one of the worst terrorist attacks a Western country has seen this century.
In what appears to be a combination of American interests against Iran's expansion in the Middle East, and U.S. President Joe Biden’s personal connection with the Jewish people and the State of Israel, he has decided to save Israel from an existential disaster that was created by both Netanyahu and Iran through its terror proxies Hamas and Hezbollah. And Germany has joined this mission.
If we try to see very fair, with massive protesters in US soil, lookalike Biden gambling to ‘full support’ for Netanyahu is big blunder for his reelection 2024. Biden’s core voters, young or 18-34 years old, according to CNN survey, only 27 percent support Biden genocidal-full support for Israel. Relatives similar [other poll by QUINNIPIAC] young voters still vote Biden after first-10 days Palestine - Israel war only 25 percent.
The existential disaster could unfold in the event of a serious military loss, if Israel, after internal disintegration under Netanyahu had to face alone a multiple front war of Gaza, Hezbollah in the north and Iran itself.
As soon as the U.S. sent its two aircraft carriers to the area and gave a clear message to Iran and Hezbollah not to interfere, and Germany deployed soldiers on a battleship off the coast of Lebanon and at the headquarters of UNIFIL, the chance of a regional war was reduced - although it still exists.
What we are seeing is not just military aid but vital morale aid, when most of the Israeli public do not trust Netanyahu’s leadership.
The existential disaster could also happen politically, if the Netanyahu government, which includes supporters of terror, genocide and full apartheid, were to conduct the war in Gaza independently.
In that case the death toll of thousands in Gaza could rise astronomically higher.
From the visits in Israel and statements of Biden, his secretary of state, and senior Pentagon officials, and in parallel the visit to Israel and statements of Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his defense minister, it seems that both the Biden and Scholz administrations have decided to "babysit" Netanyahu and be hands-on his war planning – all this to ensure he does not fulfil the crazed wishes of its far-right ministers. Germany would not have otherwise taken the risk of arming Israel during the war against Hamas.
Massive crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip by Israel could not only lead to untold death toll of Palestinians in Gaza, but also to the political and moral end of Israel itself which to many in the world is seen as a country established as a refuge for persecuted Jews after the Holocaust.
In this we see the fragileness of Israel in the world, which is mostly dependent on the continuous support of two countries, the global superpower the U.S. and the European superpower Germany. Both have principled and moral support for Israel’s existence beyond their own national interests.
AXEL SPRINGER DE also the new owner of POLITICO
Most other countries are in relation with Israel and support it only because of their own economic, military and political interests, or their relations with Germany and the U.S.
It is enough for the far-right to come to power in Germany, or for Donald Trump to be re-elected, for Israel to be in a much more dangerous place.
Although both Scholz and Biden frame their commitment to Israel as part to their commitment to the Jewish people’s survival in the world, this does not mean, of course, that they should allow Israel to conduct a policy of apartheid in the occupied Palestinian territories, or turn a blind eye to its other discriminatory policies.
The American and German governments understand the danger if Israel is left to be dismantled and all or most Jewish Israelis killed or forced to leave.
In several Western countries, a massive and rapid immigration of Jewish Israelis to them could lead to an explosion of anti-Semitism, violence and even pogroms.
The worldwide antisemitic attacks, celebrations and support that Hamas received for massacring and kidnapping Jewish Israelis since October 7, appear to prove that prospect. This is among the reasons why despite Netanyahu and Iran’s attacks on Israel, most Jewish Israelis are not ready to give up on their home.
