Military Exercise in Cuba between China & Cuba, and No, It's NOT JFK v Khruschev. It's Biden v Xi Jinping
I helped my daddy build a bomb shelter in our basement because some fool parked a dozen warheads 90 miles off the coast of Florida (re: Cuba) - Skip Tyler to Jack Ryan -
9.41pm Beijing / 9.41am Washington DC / 10.41am Havana / 2.41pm London
My brother himself may be handling (from Indonesian side/local side) the U.S. B-52H Stratofortress currently in Medan North Sumatra / Kuala Namu Airport (code: KNO), around 700 km from Singapore. He graduated from military school when high school, although he did not yet attend Military Academy: he pursued studying in Nanyang (currently 14th best University in the world). From Jakarta, he abruptly got a task job to Kuala Namu, and must have arrived in Kuala Namu before B-52H Stratofortress landed at Kuala Namu.
On detail: Indonesian air force confirmed that not one but two USAF B-52H Stratofortress landed at Kuala Namu today June 20th, 2023, around 4am local time, or around 12 hours after Xi Jinping meet Blinken in Beijing). They took off from Guam and were welcomed by 3 F-16 from Pangkalan TNI Angkatan Udara (Indonesia air force base) Roesmin Nurjadin Pekanbaru Riau (also around 500 km from Singapore). This is part of the Interoperability Bomber Landing Exercise between the U.S. and Indonesia. This is not the first time a 'modern' US bomber landed in the country 27 years ago, a B-1 Lancer participated in Indonesia Air Show 1996 (static display at Soekarno-Hatta Airport) —- just 3-4 years after Santa Cruz Timor Loro Sae tragedy.
For China, every “significant” stuff from the U.S. military (Marine, Army, Airforce near China’s territory, even in Indonesia, is a threat. The degree of historical ignorance on here about about prior US-China diplomacy, this or that formulation, what is and isn’t in the negotiating record, what has and hasn’t happened or been said before, and so on, is staggering. But clearly not much of a deterrent to commentary.
Just 16 hours after Stratofortress landed in Kuala Namu Indonesia (or around 28 hours after Xi Jinping met Blinken in Beijing), Alex B. Ward from POLITICO (alongside Josh Gerstein, Alex is reporter who investigating bombshell-leak about Roe v Wade overturned by SCOTUS, last May 2022) reconfirmed WSJ investigation: China & Cuba discussing what kind of training would take place at the facility & what the leadership structure would look like. Biden administration officials have brought up these talks with their counterparts in Beijing and Havana.
No. You are not reading some wrong or typo. Today (still alive) RFK has a badmouth issue about the coronavirus vaccine. This situation, according to the POLITICO and WSJ investigation. redefined tension like JFK - Khruschev about the Cuban Missile. Like quote by Skip Tyler (fictional character of The Hunt of Red October, first ever movie of “Cinematic Universe of Jack Ryan’s CIA”) saying “When I was twelve, I helped my daddy build a bomb shelter in our basement because some fool parked a dozen warheads 90 miles off the coast of Florida (means: Cuba). Well, this thing could park a coupla hundred warheads off Washington and New York and no one would know anything about it till it was all over.
The irony: (also) today is 60 years of celebration/commemorating “HOTLINE.” June 20th, 1963: U.S. - Soviet Union / USSR [now Russia] creates a red phone, hotline.
60 years minus 1 day (June 19th, 2023, when Blinken met Xi Jinping), the US failed to create the same hotline agreement with China.
The bigger problem is actually not balloon spy (too hyperbolic) or CSIS simulation China - Taiwan war (predict) 2026. But incident LITERALLY same hour when Secretary Austin still sat down at the same dinner table with Minister of Defense Li Shangfu in IISS Shangri-La Dialogue (another high ranking or VIP in the same table: Australia PM Anthony Norman Albanese, Deputy PM Singapore and next PM Lawrence Wong Shyun Tsai, and Indonesia Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo): China destroyer vs USS Chung Hoon.
Imagine how hard China to agree about “HOTLINE” with U.S., when in same dinner table, US and China destroyer spat in near Taiwan Straits.
4 Days ago, Breakthrough News (media syndicate, non profit) try to explore “ITS TRUE or NOT” about the WSJ investigation on “China eavesdropping” in Cuba, a “listening post” in Cuba (specifically: Bejucal, around 30 km from Havana, and around 920 km from Guantanamo).
According to Margaret Brennan (Senior journo of CBS), Secretary Blinken told her that the US has been going around the world & pushing back on efforts by China to build out intelligence posts beyond Cuba. This interview (Blinken - Brennan) was maybe around 40 hours ago, inside the US Embassy in Beijing.
Side-by-side seating between President Xi Jinping and former US Secretary of State: with John Forbes Kerry, with Rex Wayne Tillerson, and Michael Richard “Mike” Pompeo. Currently, Pompeo (well-known) very hate China and very hate Xi Jinping.
Yesterday (around 28 hours ago), between Blinken and Xi Jinping: not side-by-side. Blinken-Xi met for ONLY 35 minutes— one of the shortest high-level meetings on record. Consecutive translation cuts the actual exchange in half — leaving each less than 10 minutes of perfunctory speaking time. Lookalike downgrade, but at least a good initiative each other to keep talking, not war.
China and Cuba are in active conversations about creating a new joint military training facility on the island nation 100 miles from the American homeland.
According to a senior U.S. official, Beijing and Havana are discussing what kind of training would take place at the facility and what the leadership structure would look like. Biden administration officials have brought up these talks with their counterparts in Beijing and Havana. It’s unclear, however, how far along China and Cuba are in their chats about the prospects for a deal, the official said.
Asked for comment, an administration official said the U.S. “can’t confirm on that reporting or comment on that specifically. We continue to be concerned about [China’s] longstanding activities with Cuba,” adding that Beijing “will keep trying to enhance its presence in Cuba, and we will keep working to disrupt it.”
The officials were granted anonymity to discuss a highly classified intelligence issue. The Wall Street Journal was first to report on the negotiations.
The revelation comes on the heels of Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s trip to China where on Monday he met with paramount leader Xi Jinping. While both men said the talks were fruitful, though devoid of clear deliverables, China refused to reestablish military-to-military communications like Washington wanted.
“I think it’s absolutely vital that we have these kinds of communications, military to military,” Blinken told reporters Monday. “That imperative, I think, was only underscored by recent incidents that we saw in the air and on the seas.”
Ten days ago, the Biden administration admitted China had a spy base in Cuba since at least 2019, after initially saying — without elaboration — that the reporting on negotiations over such a base by the Wall Street Journal, POLITICO and other outlets was “inaccurate.”
Trump administration officials insist they were not aware of intelligence on the spy base while they were in office. But during a Sunday appearance on CNN, former Defense Secretary Mark Thomas Esper said he “would not be surprised” by China’s actions.
A lot of “sensational” stories by Florida since last August 2022. First, of course the Mar-a-Lago raid (August 2022) by the FBI. Then, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis confirmed to join the Presidential Bid between GOP contenders for the 2024 U.S. Election. Then Miami Heat (NBA Finals) and Florida Panthers (Final Stanley Cup), but both lose (same) 4-1 (Heat lose by Denver Nuggets; Panther lose by Las Vegas Golden Knights). Next, second arraignment for Trump in Miami Courthouse (after last April in Manhattan Courthouse), 1 day before his 77th birthday, then Trump (after trial) visited VERSAILLES, a bakery restaurant owned/built by Cuban exile in Miami. Then, Lionel Messi chose Inter Miami FC over (gigantic US$ 1 billion contract by Public Investment Fund’s Saudi) Al Hilal. Now: military agreement by China - Cuba, like Skip Tyler said, “90 miles of the coasts of Florida.”
